Who this is for
Store owner or e-commerce manager whose products drop out of Shopping listings after sales, stock changes or feed changes, and who has no time to watch diagnostics.
Warnings arrive by email after each promotion, the feed lags the site, or nobody owns the data source when it fails.
The result
The named data source keeps being fetched and processed, and the price, availability and image problems that appear are investigated; up to two causes a month end in a proposed fix, and any other ends in an explanation of what only you can change, a note that Google must review, or a quote for the bigger job. Each month you see what appeared and how it ended.
What is included
- One named Merchant Center data source, watched through diagnostics and data source reports that you share or give least-privilege access to
- Investigation of each new fetch, processing, price, availability or image problem, and up to two monthly proposals a month. A monthly proposal is a written feed-side change, with its cause, that returns the data source to how it last processed without that problem: for a fetch or processing failure, a change to the file address, access, schedule or generator rule (not a repair of the file's structure, such as delimiter, header names, XML escaping, encoding or size); for a price or availability mismatch, a feed-side rule or refresh change for up to five flagged products; for an image problem, a change for up to five flagged image addresses. A problem is one distinct cause of one or more flagged products or failed fetches; the same cause appearing again in the same month counts once. Anything wider is written up with the evidence and can be bought as the matching one-off job at its listed price where it fits that job's scope, or quoted.
- Written change lists for page markup or settings that you control
- A written monthly summary of what appeared, what we proposed and what is still open
You receive
- A monthly proposal (a proposed fix or change list) for each problem we can address within the stated size, up to two a month
- An explanation of what you must change or request from Google, when the cause is outside the feed
- A written monthly summary
What is not included
- Applying changes to your feed, account, site or prices, which stays with your team
- Google account suspensions, policy appeals or promises of approval
- Advertising campaigns, budgets or billing
- Deciding your prices, promotions or stock
- A third problem in a month, a repair of the file's structure, or more products or images than a monthly proposal covers: each is written up with the evidence and can be bought as the matching one-off job where it fits, or quoted
- Out-of-hours cover or any guaranteed response time
What we need from you first
- The name of the data source and how its file is produced and fetched
- How often products are flagged today, as best you know
- Who applies changes and requests review. No logins, advertising access or customer data in the first enquiry
Never send passwords, keys, customer records or confidential code in the first enquiry. Secure handover is agreed after scoping.
How we check it is done
- For each proposed fix, the cause is shown with before and after comparison of the feed value, page and checkout or of the file address behaviour.
- After you apply a change and Merchant Center has processed the data, the diagnostics for the affected products no longer show the problem we named.
- Each month's summary lists every new problem on the named data source and how it ended.
- Each monthly proposal stays within the stated size, and no more than two causes are proposed for in a month.
You review each proposal and the monthly summary. A proposal counts as delivered when you accept it.
When we would stop or decline
- The data source cannot be changed by anyone you can reach
- Most problems are account-level or policy issues that no feed change can fix
- Safe watching would need advertising or billing access
- More than two problems a month, or problems wider than a monthly proposal, happen regularly, so we agree a different scope with you
Questions
Will this keep my products approved?
We cannot promise approval. We find and propose fixes for the problems the diagnostics show, and we show the processed result.
Do you need admin access to Merchant Center?
No. We use redacted exports or the least access that lets us read diagnostics. We never need advertising or billing access.
How is this different from one fix?
A one-off job fixes one problem once. This watches the data source you name and takes each new problem through to a proposal or explanation, month after month.
What counts as a problem, and what happens after two?
A problem is one distinct cause of one or more flagged products or failed fetches, so the same cause appearing again in the same month counts once. Up to two causes a month get a monthly proposal. A third, a repair of the file's structure, or a cause covering more than five products or image addresses is written up with the evidence and can be bought as the matching one-off job where it fits, or quoted.
